The MEPAG strategy to support this process is: # The MEPAG web site: http://mepag.jpl.nasa.gov/decadal/index.html will post Mars-related white papers for community review and consideration. # Authors are those who substantively contribute to a document's formulation. # Members of the community are invited to endorse the white papers as "signatories". It is permitted and encouraged to endorse more than one white paper - these documents cover independent aspects of Mars exploration. The NRC's deadline is September 15, 2009, so your action is needed by September 1. # We are working on setting up a web-based process to help collect and manage the signatory lists. More information on this shortly. # Some formal MEPAG white papers will be presented under the authorship of the MEPAG Chair on behalf of the entire organization - for these, signatories will not be requested. For credibility, please read the paper (not just title!) before endorsing. Sincerely, Dr. Jack Mustard, MEPAG Chair 2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2 PLANETARY MEETING CALENDAR ADDITIONS Posted at http://planetarynews.org/meetings.html October 2-4, 2009 Herschel Space Observatory: Discovering the Cold Universe http://astro.imperial.ac.uk/outreach/cu.shtml Thessaloniki, Greece July 4-8, 2010 Australian Earth Sciences Convention 2010 http://www.aesc2010.gsa.org.au/ Canberra, Australia [Editor Note: If there is a planetary-related meeting, conference or workshop that you think your colleagues should be aware of, please send the date, title, URL and location to pen_editor at psi.edu.] *********************************************************************** * * The Planetary Exploration Newsletter is issued approximately weekly. * Current and back issues are available at * * http://planetarynews.org * * To subscribe, go to http://planetarynews.org/pen_subscribe.html * * To unsubscribe, go to http://planetarynews.org/pen_unsubscribe.html * * Please send all replies and submissions to pen_editor at psi.edu. * Announcements and other messages should be brief with links to URLs * for extended information, including detailed descriptions for job * announcements.
