Stop by to buy planetary-relate merchandise (early holiday shopping!), sign up for the daily meteorite raffle, grab one of the buttons and stickers featuring our 2025 logo contest winner, and meet your PGD officers. All proceeds from the booth are used to support our student travel grants and the discounted tickets for students wishing to attend the banquet and business meeting. Providing exemplary students the means to present their best work at a national conference is a powerful career development tool, and we look forward to continuing to support their endeavors. 2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2 JOIN THE SCIENTIFIC SOCIETY FOR ASTROBIOLOGY (SSA) Incorporated in May 2022, the SSA is a professional society that advances the field of astrobiology by fostering collaborations amongst members and helping to boost the community's voice to the public, policymakers, and U.S. funding agencies. The SSA welcomes new members across all career stages and research interests. SSA is working to accelerate the research community growth through initiatives such as the funding of early-career conference travel grants (2 annual cycles), contributing to ongoing efforts like the recent NASA Day of Action (5-6 October, 2025), and hosting development and networking events for members. To learn more about SSA's vision and mission as well as ways to get involved, see the SSA website: https://www.astrobiologyssa.org/about-the-ssa If you are attending AGU, consider reaching out to SSA's membership officer (Dr. Suniti Karunatillake) and consider attending the Town Hall on the "Limitations and Expectations in the Search for Life," after which he will be available to answer questions. For other questions, email ssaboard@astrobiologyssa.org. 3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3 PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT WEBINAR: BRAIDED RIVER CAREERS IN PLANETARY SCIENCE AND ASTROBIOLOGY Monday, October 20, 2025 4:00 p.m. ET/3:00 p.m. CT/2:00 p.m. MT/1:00 p.m. PT Speakers and Panelists: Elizabeth Frank (Interlune), Tanya Harrison (Outer Space Institute and Mission Control), Colin Hamill (American Astronomical Society) Sometimes the planetary career you have planned takes a side-step.
